Wisma Merdeka, or fondly called ‘Wisma’ by locals, is one of the city’s oldest shopping complex and also one of the most successful. Today, this mall cum office building is sprawled over 10 floors compromising of two phases. Phase 1 reaches 11 storeys high and faces Signal Hill, while Phase 2, topping out at 13 floors, faces the sea.
To navigate easily around this complex, one should note that the ground floor right up to the 6th floor of both phases are connected via corridors. From the 7th floor onwards, the offices are separated and the changing of elevators would be necessary to get from one phase to the other. Each phase is served by a lift lobby in the centre. There are loading lifts at both ends of each phase as well. Visitors can access the mall via its 7 entrances/exits.

Shops here are most likely local brands and small businesses. However, this mall is well known for its good deal of fashion and clothes, as well as tailors and money exchangers. The 6th floor of Phase 2 is where most of the eateries are located. The major tenant here would be Tong’s Departmental store and also Familia Superstore. Most shops here operate from 10am till 9pm.

This mall is strategically located along Tun Fuad Stephens Road and Tun Razak Road, right in the heart of the city. Public transport is also a good option for travelers to reach here – such as taking a cab or by bus.
